About O’Neil Gas Services

We are a family run Company, based in Ayr. Started in 1995 by John O’Neil who previously worked as a Service Manager for Scottish Gas, the company began with five employees and now employs eighteen people including a Service Manager, Office Manager and an Installation Manager. Most of our employees live locally.

We now have twelve service engineers fully trained in the servicing and repairing of all makes and models of gas appliances. All twelve are Gas Safe registered. We are also qualified to carry out work on LPG and Oil appliances.

We cover all of Ayrshire and have an engineer available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for emergency calls. Each year we carry out over 20,000 service and breakdown visits with Local Council, Housing Associations and private customers.

Over the last ten years we have built up a large customer base in the public and private sector, mainly due to our local reputation for quality and reliability. In the last ten years we have taken on five apprentices from the local community and paid for three years of college education, allowing them to become qualified engineers.

We also assist South Ayrshire Council with the training of their apprentices. Over the last few years we have been involved in the training of these young apprentices in the area of gas safety. We are proud that South Ayrshire Council approached us to help these local youngsters become fully trained tradesmen.

As a Company we feel that this investment in local people has been of benefit and has allowed us to put something back into the community. We value our local links and through continued investment we hope to continue to grow.
